This panel discussion will bring indigenous leaders and government representatives from Colombia and Brazil, countries which are leading the biodiversity and Climate COPs. The objective is to promote a high level discussion regarding how indigenous territories governance tools (as management and life plans) bring contributions to protect biodiversity and are important tools to channel funds to the territories. Discussion will focus on how to elevate the direct access to biodiversity funds by IPLC groups. Brazilian indigenous government representative, indigenous organizations from Brazil and Colombia, and GEF representative will share their perspectives.
