José Otavio Passos is the Senior Director for Brazilian Amazon at The Nature Conservancy (TNC). Based in Belém/Pará, he leads TNC’s systemic transformation strategies in the biome, driving durable positive impacts for climate, nature and people. Prior to joining TNC, José Otavio worked for over a decade in both the private and public sectors, specializing in capital markets, project finance, and public-private partnerships. He holds a Master’s in Public Policy from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV-EAESP), a Bachelor’s in Economics from University of São Paulo (USP), and has furthered his education at Harvard Kennedy School and Cambridge Judge Business School.
