Aysu Uygur, Ph.D., is a senior strategy officer for the Malaria team and Disease Modeling team at the Gates Foundation. She leads strategy projects across malaria prevention and care portfolios, as well as leading digital health work, including the digitization of entomological surveillance in low-resource geographies. Aysu received her Ph.D. in genetics from Harvard University and worked on tissue regeneration at Brigham and Women's Hospital at Harvard Medical School. Prior to joining the Gates Foundation in 2021, Aysu was a project leader at Boston Consulting Group supporting biotechnology and global pharmaceutical companies in a range of areas, including product launch strategy, and establishing a global manufacturing strategy.
