Ali Swanson is a conservation ecologist with 20 years international experience at the intersection of ecology, technology, and international environmental policy. As the Director of Nature Tech and Innovation at Conservation International, she leads the institutional effort to better harness AI and other emerging technologies to accelerate and scale CI's conservation impact. Much of her current focus is on advancing the nature MRV innovations needed to unlock nature finance at scale. Prior to joining CI, Ali led large-scale ecological research in Serengeti National Park; spearheaded the SnapshotSerengeti.org citizen science platform; and served in the U.S. Department of State’s environmental bureau.
