Sushil Raj is Executive Director of the Rights and Communities program at the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), advancing Indigenous Peoples' and local communities' rights in conservation policies and governance. His leadership helps WCS pursue equitable, just, and lasting conservation outcomes. Previously, Sushil served on a UN Human Rights Council expert group (Working Group on People of African Descent) and held roles at UN political affairs, human rights, and Indigenous issues offices. His experience spans philanthropy (Ford Foundation, Asia Foundation) and peacebuilding as a board member of the New York Peace Institute and practicing mediator.
