Land degradation and drought are not only ecological challenges; they are governance, livelihood and investment challenges. Across drylands and degraded landscapes, restoration efforts succeed or fail depending on whether actors can coordinate across sectors, jurisdictions, land uses and scales.

This session shares evidence from the EU-funded Landscapes for Our Future (LFF) programme, which has supported and generated learning from 22 integrated landscape initiatives across Africa, Asia and Latin America. Drawing on dryland, forest, agricultural and cross-jurisdictional landscapes, it examines how Integrated Landscape Management (ILM) strengthens outcomes through improved coordination, stakeholder engagement, adaptive learning and institutional anchoring.
