Droughts remain the costliest and most underfunded climate hazard, yet most spending still arrives after the damage is done. The proposed session aim to introduces the Drought Resilience Accelerator ("Drought Action Catalyst"), a partnership-driven initiative to shift expenditure from reactive emergency aid toward proactive, anticipatory drought action embedded in national finance and policy. Drawing on triple-dividend analysis, AI-enabled early warning, and multi-ministerial Drought Governance and Planning Systems, the Accelerator builds bankable, investment-ready pipelines aligned with global climate funds. Experts will share emerging evidence from subnational pilots, digital risk-finance tools, and locally led adaptation finance across drought-prone drylands. Join governments, financiers, and researchers to explore how anticipatory finance can de-risk national food security and unlock major climate investment.
